Marilyn Prysi
Marylin provides Spanish instruction and support across all Empowered Prep locations. She works virtually and ensures students fully understand course material and meet academic standards.
Marylin Prysi was born in Huntington, New York. She was raised in Long Island and Puerto Rico. She graduated with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology and with an Elementary Education Certification from Colgate University. She has been an educator of Pre-K Migrant, 4-5 grade math, Kindergarten, and Gifted K-5 for over 20 years. She is ESOL, Reading, and Gifted Endorsed. She is a certified Media Specialist K-12, and has held the role as ESOL Contact. She is fluent in Spanish.
As early as high school, Marylin’s grandmother envisioned her as a teacher. Her grandmother believed that her kindness and love needed to be shared with young children. Marylin knew she wanted to instill a love for learning, and especially reading. She wants to make a difference in the lives of her students and their families.
Marylin has always loved kids. She desired to have her final internship in Kindergarten and was happily assigned. She believes in creating a warm, caring, loving, and nurturing environment in which each child knows he or she can be their unique self, free to express themselves while respecting others. It is through this love and caring relationship that she is able to have her students exceed her expectations. She believes in teaching in nurturing environment where learning is fun and exciting. Teaching has and will always be her passion.
Marylin is married to her husband Bill. She has one son, Chandler and two stepsons, Brandon and Garrett. Marylin is an avid reader. In her spare time, you will find her reading by the pool or at the beach searching for shells.
